About

Purpose

The Research and Development (R&D) Division at IMPART Alliance leads efforts to collect, analyze, and disseminate data on Michigan’s direct care workforce to inform policy, practice, and advocacy through evidence-based research. Our interdisciplinary team conducts qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research, drawing on original data collection and publicly available datasets statewide. We collaborate with corporations, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, and state and local government agencies to support data needs and research initiatives.

Through interdisciplinary collaboration within Michigan State University, partnerships with other universities, and engagement with community stakeholders, R&D also aims to strengthen student research and practice opportunities while positioning IMPART Alliance as a national leader in direct care workforce research and policy development.
