Honoring Older Michiganians Day

Older Michiganians Day is a time to recognize and celebrate the lasting contributions of older adults across our state. On May 7, we join communities throughout Michigan in honoring the individuals whose experience, leadership, and dedication continue to shape our families, workplaces, and neighborhoods.

At IMPART Alliance, we are proud to stand alongside older adults and the organizations that support them. This day is not only a celebration, but also an opportunity to raise awareness about the issues that matter most to aging individuals and their families. From access to in-home care and long-term services to support for caregivers, these priorities impact the health and well-being of communities across Michigan.

Older adults play a vital role in our society. They contribute to our economy, share knowledge across generations, and strengthen the social fabric of our communities. Their voices, perspectives, and lived experiences are essential in shaping policies and programs that promote dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Events like the advocacy rally at the Michigan State Capitol bring people together to connect with lawmakers, share stories, and advocate for meaningful change. These moments of engagement help ensure that the needs of older Michiganians are recognized and addressed, both now and in the future.

Older Michiganians Day is also a reminder of the importance of community. Whether attending in person or participating virtually, individuals across the state are coming together to support one another and work toward a shared goal: a Michigan where all people can age with respect, support, and opportunity.

On this day, we extend our appreciation to older adults, caregivers, advocates, and community leaders who continue to make a difference. Your contributions do not go unnoticed, and your impact is felt every day.

Thank you for all that you do.

With appreciation,
IMPART Alliance
