Everything has been great so far. I really enjoyed our first double class; it was very engaging, especially with the whiteboard approach and the group discussion sessions. The little game we played at the end was a nice touch, and I appreciate how interactive the lessons are. With online classes, it’s easy to lose concentration, but the way the classes were set up and the structure of the presentation made it very hard to lose track of what was going on. I’m impressed with the approach and I’m very much looking forward to the next session!
Thank you again for the excellent class and for being open to feedback. I’m excited to see how the course evolves, and I’m confident it will keep getting better. Have a great day!
I appreciate these classes. The participation with other students, meeting the other trainers, the different outlooks on daily tasks that each person handles is nice to hear. Learning about other job positions and how they handle their primary role is a nice comparison on what we do at our home. I have learned a lot different things that were not necessarily taught in my initial training with my CMH. Some areas have been a refresher that is always good to go over again with new perspectives from others.
I can say that I am really enjoying the class subjects in this cohort of phase 4. They are extremely interesting and informative. To be able to hear other students’ experiences, that I myself might not have witnessed first-hand is interesting to hear. I have learned something new in each class that I have taken so far, either from the content, the other students or the instructor. I really enjoy how we are all engaged in the subject matter as a whole. The classes seem to go by very quickly without any of us, it seems to notice that the time has passed by. You both are doing such a wonderful job with this training. Thank you so much for keeping us all engaged.
I am thoroughly excited to be a part of the IMPART Alliance training programs as they are very very valuable to all DCW’s I can honestly say I continue to see the dedication and hard work put into the continuing development of this program. Most noticeably the huge jump in the Level 4 training with the implementation of the LMS portal. The easy access to the powerpoint classes and the smooth transition to actually taking the quizzes. Also, the effort put forth by you and Bethany (and others) during the presentation of the Zoom meetings making sure a complete understanding of the information is obtained by all students and all questions answered and input by students is appreciated.
Thank you so very much for these classes. Due to these classes the President of my company that I work for contacted me and congratulated me on the opportunity I get to attend in Lansing. Plus, because of hard work ,and the IMPART Alliance direct care worker program, I am receiving $1/hr raise and a bonus. Crazy thing is I won’t be in the company for a year until the end May! That you so very much!!!
I just wanted to thank you all for these incredible classes. I have been a caregiver for over 30 years but found these classes absolutely incredible. These classes, I believe, should be mandatory for anyone who cares for another individual. The fact that these classes touch literally all aspects of care is above and beyond informational. I told them that owners and supervisors not only do these classes teach basic, day-to-day care, but they teach so much about mental health and wellness for clients and the caregiver. When I started in this field, we had no knowledge of the term “person-centered.” Most caregivers, I believe, were always thinking of clients first, but to have a program that teaches person-centered client care is so very important and needed. Coverage of all topics from A to Z. I have recommended this class to the owners of the company, supervisors, and caregivers; all should be taking these classes. I truly believe that if all direct care workers had a basic standardized curriculum that they were mandated to take before actually becoming caregivers, maybe there wouldn’t be so much employee turnover, client mistreatment, recipients’ rights violations, and employee burnout. Your program was amazing! Thank you again for all you are doing for us DCWs.

Making history and our meetings have definitely been fun! Test writing did have it’s challenges😃. I feel so honored, grateful, and blessed to be a part of our history-making goal. History WAS NOT my favorite subject, making history is a different story! Ha ha!!
Thanks for everything. I feel especially honored for being a part of the process made and will continue to look forward to potential future involvements (fingers crossed 🤞). One of my life goals is to become a teacher/guide and continue to advocate for this field of work. ~We Are Needed~
I know that it takes more time, and it is costlier, bit I get so much more out of live meetings, although I was thinking if we could have a hybridized meeting, I think that people would show up and participate that way as well. There is so much going on during those live meetings and as time progresses, the friendships and professionalism will only increase. We have a great group. Let’s keep it. It is a treasure to have such a diverse and motivated group of people.
I feel so honored to be a part of this whole process. It is led by very competent people such as Clare and yourself. From my very first one on one meeting, years ago, I have felt included in every aspect of this highly important mission.
Just look at where we are now. I could never in my wildest dreams, thought that there would be a group as effective as this and that I have had the opportunity to be such an integral part of it. Again; it has been an honor.
We have the responsibility to take this to the highest level we can. It is the DCWs that are counting on us to follow through and make this a true profession. So many DCWs are looking for exactly what we are trying so hard to achieve.
