For Employers and Organizations

Build a Skilled, Confident Direct Care Workforce With Support From IMPART Alliance

Direct care is one of Michigan’s fastest growing fields. More than 190,000 direct care workers support older adults and people living with disabilities across the state, and Michigan will see an estimated 212,400 job openings from 2022 to 2032.

Employers who invest in training today are setting themselves up to attract committed professionals, strengthen care quality, and build teams that support long term organizational success.

IMPART Alliance offers free, evidence-based training aligned with Michigan’s 15 Direct Care Core Competencies. Our programs can help employers build staff capacity, reduce turnover, and support meaningful career growth for the people who are the center of your organization.

Training Options for Employers and Organizations

Train the Trainer

Develop internal training capacity by sending an experienced direct care worker to become an IMPART certified trainer, and learn how to deliver our standardized curriculum. This strategy supports consistent onboarding, continued education, builds leadership pathways, and creates in-house expertise. Courses are offered periodically.

Individual Employee Training

We know your employees have busy and varied schedules and need flexibility to meet the needs of the people they support. This option works well when only a few staff need training at different times. Employees can create training profiles and enroll in the individual classes you recommend or choose to complete the full certificate, all based on what fits their availability.

Group Training

If you have a group of ten or more employees who need the same training, we can schedule a dedicated virtual session tailored to your team. You select the topic or series, and we will work with you to find a time that fits your staffing needs.

The Value of Investing in Your Workforce

A Skilled Workforce Drives Better Outcomes

Direct care work is highly-skilled, person-centered, professional health and human services work. Quality training strengthens confidence, communication, safety, and consistency. Staff begin their roles better prepared, and employers benefit from increased reliability and performance.

Training Strengthens Retention

Turnover in direct care is costly and destabilizing. Research shows that high turnover is closely tied to limited training and unclear growth pathways. Employers who invest in structured training and advancement opportunities experience higher retention and improved job satisfaction among staff.

Let’s Build Your Workforce Together
