Mariana Bittencourt is a communications coordinator at IMPART Alliance and works toward carrying out the messages of improving the lives of the direct-care workforce and those they provide services and support to. Bittencourt, who is originally from Brazil, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Michigan State University where she concentrated in Media Design.
She comes from a family of health professionals and in many ways, this position is a hybrid of her two passions, which are communications and helping others.
“My family is my role model, just seeing the way we come together to support one another through challenging times like my grandma’s recent cancer diagnosis, inspires and motivates me. I believe in acts of service and leaving this world a little better than when we found it. I thought healthcare would be the only way I could do that. I know now there are other ways we can all help. With IMPART Alliance for example, yes, I’m working in communications. I’m not on the front lines like a direct-care worker, but I’m helping to advocate and spread the message to other people and stakeholders who can help make positive changes.”
