Specialty Course: Vital Signs IP
Learn to recognize vital signs, spot dangers, and know when to act.
The ability to accurately obtain a person’s vital signs is a very valuable skill. In this class, you will learn about normal ranges for vital signs and the signs and symptoms that will alert you to the possibility of a person’s vital signs being in abnormal ranges. We will discuss what a direct care worker can do to keep a person safe as well as when to call for assistance. You will learn how to accurately take someone’s blood pressure; obtain pulse, respiration, and temperature readings; and how to weigh someone during the hands on lab time.
